Okay so I think I may be a little *too* happy today
(if there is such a thing!)
My bum won’t stay still, my hands keeping jiving to non-existent
music
and generally I’m just a little
giddy.
Why?
Because it’s days like today, when I’ve previously spent ages making
something, and the time has finally come to send it out into the world, that I really love doing
what I do on my little parts of the interweb.
So who’s ready for a super *MASSIVE*
tutorial?? YAY!
This is my number ONE, most requested video, EVER!
I haven’t
done it before now as I didn't want to do something similar to things that are
already out there. But finally, I think I have managed to do what I wanted. It is 45 minutes long but this video has a bunch of separate tutorials smushed into
one. Tutorials on different ways to make different shapes and different sized
beads. Different techniques for decorating your beads. Tips for what kinds of
paper produce what kinds of beads. Information on tools for beading-making. Tips
for glazing. Tips on this. Tips on that. It is basically RAMMED with information.
So I know you would rather see it rather than read me
ramble, so here it is I hope you enjoy:
Much love
I have to say fantastic tutorial, great hints and tips, I have made these before but just the first ones, so I will have fun trying the others.
ReplyDeleteLuv your ring goes very well with the colour of your nails.
Thanks
Chris x
Great tutorial! I love making beads from fabric as well, but I haven't tried all the different shapes. It is very addictive! Thanks Jennibellie!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for doing this great video!! I made basic paper beads years ago (like back in the 70's!) but I'm really looking forward to trying some of your techniques.
ReplyDeleteYOU are AMAZING !!!! I am knew to making paper beads, and yes like you said you get hooked. I have searched for videos on how to make the different types of beads. They were either not explained well enough, you couldnt see what they were doing and so forth. And you, you answered my prayers.
ReplyDeleteThank you....Thank you....Thank you.
Michelle
Thanks for an excellent tutorial and newsletter. Lots of ideas and inspiration. The beads look fantastic. I must get some glaze and have a try.
ReplyDeleteBest tutorial out there on beads. Thanks so much
ReplyDeleteThis is fantastic, Jennibellie ! I have made some paper beads already, but you have inspired me to take them to the next level. Thank you so much. I have a question....what do you think about Modpodge for "glazing". Do you think it would work ? or would the beads be sticky ?
ReplyDeleteown, fantastic tutorial, great hints and tips. Beautiful paper beads. Thank you so much for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteOkay, now I'm just sad, cause I'm at work and can't watch your video like RIGHT NOW! I wanna go home! ;-)

Cardarian
Hi Jenni! Thanks so much for taking the time to put this wonderful video together. I love your patterns and found the video very inspirational. :-)
ReplyDeleteWell, finally home, all the chores done. Settled down with a cup of coffee and your vid. Wow! That may have been the best 45 minutes I spent all week. Fantastic. I love love love all those different shapes, sizes and embellishment ideas. That's it, I'm crowning you creativity queen! I think you just made all other bead making tutorials obsolete. :-) Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteThat was a fantastic tutorial Jenni! Thank you so much for taking the time to do that! I feel much more confident making and decorating paper beads now! Hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteThanks soooo much for sharing your tutorial :-) I've never made paper beads and might just give it a try :-) Video is downloading and I will watch when I've got some 'me'-time ;-) Love your video's on art journaling!
ReplyDeleteHugs all the way from Namibia
I really enjoyed the tutorial....thank you! My favorite are the tube beads, maybe because you can put your own images on them and personalize them in that way. You did a great job!
ReplyDeleteHave to find enough time to watch! I can't wait :)
ReplyDeleteLoved ur tute! U pushed the creativity envelope totally! I have made em once but never thought much of em, but like the others may have to revisit this. Thnx so much for sharing ur talents w us! Have a great day!
ReplyDeletewhere can i get that foil?
ReplyDeleteYou are the Nigella of crafting (and I mean that in a good way!). You need to be "discovered" and put on TV! I freaking love everything you do... But this is FANtabUlous!!
ReplyDeleteOh... I just thought I'd pop back and give a hint for people who are looking for a holder for their paper beads... I didn't have a special clay one like Jennibellie and couldn't think what to use until... brainwave!
ReplyDeleteI found that a normal kitchen sponge, wet then dried overnight so that it's goes hard, is perfect for poking and holding toothpicks upright in... and they'e cheap and easy to find too :)
Thanks for the great tutorial. You certainly give us all you've got. Never done the bead thing before, but you have got me raring to go. Thanks again. Keep up the great work.........
ReplyDeleteThis is an AWESOME tutorial! I am so excited to make beads that I am going to spend my day making beads. You are such an amazing inspiration!
ReplyDeletefantastic tutorial. for newbies we could not have asked for a better teacher
ReplyDeleteHi Jenni! Love this tutorial. I learned how to do this when I was a little girl and I used newspaper to make them and I had fun back then. I will try this again in the future. Thank you so much for sharing. love love love it!
ReplyDeleteThis was wonderful. Thank you so much. Can't wait to get a bead roller.
ReplyDeleteJust found your video on youtube, flipping fantastic, love it, thank you for sharing. I shall be following your blog from now on x
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed your video, plenty of inspiration for embellishment. Have you tried "Tyvek" ( disposable overalls are made from tyvek and quite cheap) easy to work with, paint the tyvek first loosely wind the bead, glue, then hit with a heat-gun, watch your fingers! Fun results. You have very beautiful hands. Magz
ReplyDeleteI LOVED this tutorial and your beads are amazing. I´m so going to try this. When I make my own journals I like to have beads on them and these are fantastic for that, just like I saw on your tutorial for greeting cards journals :)
ReplyDeletevery good tutorial. I only started to roll but definitely will use some of your tips Thx
ReplyDeleteWow! Great tutorial, beautiful beads, many good tips. Have a bunch of scrapbooking paper to work with and now plenty of ideas. Need a beadroller...will get on my next shopping trip so I can get going on this. Looks like great fun. Thanks! BTW, I found your hands beautiful too (ever thought of being a hand model?) and love your nails also.
ReplyDeleteIf you can't wait to try your hand at bead making, you can start without a bead roller...just use a matchstick, toothpick, wooden kitchen skewer or even a chopstick, depending on the size of your bead. I grew up using magazine pages and gift wrap as bead paper, too.
ReplyDeleteGreat tutorial. I was young when Mom taught me to make paper beads using magazines pages for the paper and matchsticks or toothpicks as paper rollers. A little craft glue and, voila, nearly free craft and great memories crafting with my Mom.
ReplyDeleteLoved your tutorial. Thanks so much for posting. Can you please tell me what adhesive you use to adhere the nail foil covering?
