Hi Guys
So this is officially my second ever month of blogging, so thought I would do a post today by doing something I saw last week - WOYWW. So many great crafters showing their work-in-progress so thought I'd join to cheer myself up with all of the bad things happening over here in the UK. So here's what's on my desk:
They are journals made from a whole bunch of found paper scraps, the basis is patterned papers and vintage ephemera, then for decoration I have added vintage collectable cards, buttons, games pieces, advertisements, stamps, as well as the usual gems etc.
The larger of the two I have made from scrap office file folders and is obviously further along to completion than the other, which is a tri-fold book. I have now made a few of these found paper journals for my shop and I have to say I love the 'scrappy' kind of a look they have when I'm finished. I think when these couple are done I may make a little video, as I've been slack with my YouTube uploads lately, and they are such a great way to use the ever growing collection of scraps crafters collect and if we're completely honest with ourselves could never actually get through even if we had three lifetimes lol
I'll post the video so you can see the others when I'm done. Have a great week, love Jenny
I love your scrappy books - great combo of colours/papers/textures :) I collect scraps of fabric meaning to do something 'special' with them one day but it ain't never gonna happen...lol!! Am having my first giveaway today if you fancy having a shot :) xx

Hi Jenniebellie. Glad you jumped in on the WOYWW thing! I warn you though it is addictive but a lot of fun!! Thank you for your visit!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to WOYWW, but beware!!!! Its addictive.
ReplyDeleteLove your journals.
Happy WOYWW
Love your journals. Do you make them from scratch or buy in the basic book - apart from the file folder one of course.
ReplyDeleteGlad you decided to post on WOYWW so that I could find you and have a good snoop around.
Thanks
Sorry, just seen the earlier posts on how you make your beautiful journals so please ignore my earlier question.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment on my blog Jenny! I have to admit that the name was taken from a really great book written by Marci Shimoff. The title of her book is Happy For No Reason so mine is slightly altered...and as of yet has no words. :) So I don't think she'll mind. :) So happy we 'met'. And so happy you're sharing your art with the world!
ReplyDeleteannie!
great looking journals. Love all the colors and collage of papers. Thanks for sharing. Vickie
ReplyDeleteI have been thinking about you since all of the riots over there...Geez not very nice at all.
ReplyDeleteMy friends daughter is in London and was mugged this past week. They stole her handbag and her passport was inside of it. She has been over to the U.S. Embassy trying to get her paper work together to come back home.
I love your journals so much as you probably already know!! I love all the scraps you use and all the colors as well.
Big Hugs to You from across the Pond....
Susan

ReplyDeleteJust found your blog thru "What's up Roc!" I'm so happy that I stopped by. Your journals are beyond gorgeous. I've scrolled through a few of your old posts and can't believe you've been blogging such a short time! Warm welcome hugs to Blogland! Terri
ReplyDeletethese are awesome!
ReplyDeleteGosh, these are fantastic, Jennibelle! I am so happy you popped by my blog so that I may view your lovely work! Keep up the great work!
ReplyDeleteThese are lovely! I've really enjoyed your videos too. I find them very inspiring. Thankyou for sharing. :)XX
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this Jenny! You are a natural enthuser - I have piles and boxes of ephemera (don't we all) plus about 100 tarot decks. I've been thinking about turning the tarot cards into something and you've just given me the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI haven't watched the vids yet - the OH is asleep and he'd get dead pee'd off - but I will watch them tomorrow.
Keep it up, this is just brilliant.
Welcome to WOYWW! Be warned, it can be quite addictive! Love, love those scrappy journals. They are some of the nicest I have seen! Am going to have a closer look! Happy WOYWW, although I am a bit late this week.
ReplyDeleteI love your journals! I found your Etsy shop in a roundabout way, and made my way here to your blog. Good job recycling items into these beautiful books!
ReplyDeleteFab books, I look forward to viewing your video when its ready.
