Smash Book Flipping

I completed my smashbook yay! =)

I am actually quite happy I have finished this smashbook, usually I'm a little devastated whenever I fully complete a journal/notebook/diary, but this time it's so not the case
...each journal/notebook/diary I go through dictates to me what I will be doing in it,
for example in the horrid journal I did only 5-10 min art journal pages, in my current one I take my time and layer, in my ideas journal I both write and draw like it's a sketchbook and in this smashbook I most often did simple straightforward smashing
...which was fine, nothing wrong with good old fashioned a' cutting and a' sticking
...and a' taping and a' clipping
and I like this smashbook, I do, but now I just feel ready to make 'pretty' smashbook pages which means I'm reeeeeeeeeeally excited to start a new one =D

Here's the flip through, it's short (under 4 mins) as I wanted it to just be a bit of inspiration, rather than a distraction of explaining stuff like receipts, id cards or love notes. Hope you enjoy =)

Tell All Tuesday's here tomorrow, make sure you're back ready for some art inspiration ;)
much love

  3. thanks for sharing jenny :) you made this journal/smashbook correct? it's smash-a-riffic! sometimes i "extend" the life of a journal at the end, and other times-i've been guilty of gluing a few pages together/tearing a few out to "let it be" finished. LUV it ;) the next'pretty pages' smashing will be perfect for warmer/summery days-and the thrill of starting a new journal is as yummy as a hot fudge sundae! hugs to you my dear xo ps...hope this did NOT come thru as many times as i "tried" to send it-eek, if so, hopefully you or i can delete the duplicates lol

  4. Great smash journal, Jenny! I have one in which I work, but rarely. You have inspired me to bring it closer to my work table and include it in my artful projects from time to time. Thanks for the inspiration!

  7. Whoooooeeeeeee that's a wholelotta life packed into that little journal, m'lady!! LOL I love seeing all the little bits and pieces of life collected and saved into memories and journaled like that. Its just brilliant!! Will you show us the new journal that will replace it, please? :-) I tidied up my art desk today and stacked all six of my journals atop it where I can reach up and grab one as fitting the mood or need. It gives me NO end of giggles to see my own handmade journals amidst the ones I've purchased as well. :-D Hugs to you and Sweepie, Jenny!! ((((xoxoxoxo))))

  13. I'm working on a Smash Book right now...I'm in my 50's so I can't say it looked like something for my age group but I ride roller coasters so why would I let a Smash book stop me? I've called it "I See God" and using it as a reminder book! Still not finished with it...takes a bit of time to make it really grand, but I love it!

  14. This is fab! I love collecting emphemera and when I visited London I did two double page spreads smash style without realising it! I must do it more often :).

I have emailed you about TAT as I accidently deleted your reply to me, so sorry, it ended up in my spam and I realised too late!

  17. hi jenny. just watched this flip-again- :) as well as the video where you made the smash book itself. you showed some pages you made from a vintage atlas. i'm wondering if you completely covered those...even the waterways map or, did you tape things down on one side so you could flip them out and still have the maps visible? i've filled a couple store bought smashbooks, and sometimes the papers are so interesting/pretty, i don't want to cover them up. lol. the smashbooks i have made myself are done with papers from my stash that are'nt as lovely. just curious about the map/waterway pages.... i've also liked using a 3 ring binder so i can take a page out to work on, and move pages around if i choose to. then once i'm finished, i make a front/back cover and add the pages to that. it's all such fun.... thank you for your inspiration! hugs ;)
